Storytelling! It’s everywhere these days. Whether you are preparing for a career move or to lead the toast at a special event, we know through personal observation and an ever-expanding body of scientific research that a good story can clarify, motivate, enliven, and change the world. But how to develop this resource? Get ready, because the Storytellers of San Diego and the Encinitas Library are once again joining forces to offer the 2nd annual Storytelling Institute to the public.

In a series of six, hands-on workshops the Storytellers of San Diego expertly guide you through the creative process using tried-and-true storytelling resources, exercises, and strategies. Our instructors are professional storytellers with extensive experience in both teaching and performing in a wide variety of settings - from theater and education, to health-care and business. Participants explore different facets of working with stories and how to apply them to their individual needs. While each workshop is designed to be taken separately, when taken in combination they offer a set of complementary skills and experiences, with highly-effective results.

A certificate of completion is awarded to participants who attend all of the workshops in the course. To allow for optimal coaching and interaction, most of the workshops are limited in size, and thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Encinitas Library, all of the workshops are free.Contact the library to register for one or more workshop today!
