The Encinitas Library will be hosting events throughout the year to benefit the people of Encinitas and
those of neighboring communities and we are in need of some helping hands.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
San Diego Rep Jewish Arts Festival Women of Valor Performance - Sunday, June 23, 2:00pm (2 ushers)
Japan Festival - Saturday, August 3, 1:00-4:00pm (many volunteer opportunities available)
Art Night Encinitas - Saturday, August 3, 5:00pm-9:00pm (2 working with staff inside the library)


Friends Bookstore

Friends of the Encinitas Library Bookstore cashiers desk with customers waiting to purchase their books.
  • Volunteers work a three hour shift at least twice a month.

  • Duties include sorting and pricing donated books, shelving books, and selling books.

Friends Events

  • Volunteers help with the monthly First Sunday Music concerts, October’s Signature Event, April’s Storyteller’s Festival and August’s Japan Festival. Duties include staffing check-in tables, setting-up/taking down chairs, “green room” concierge for authors/speakers, reception assistance and other tasks as needed.
